Hi, I am Alissa! I am a graphic and web designer who creates everything you can print on or place on the internet. Advertisements, logos, websites, brochures, stationary… you name it, I can design it. With my network of copywriters, illustrators, photographers and freelancers we have the ability to create dynamic marketing pieces to suit any budget.
My services also include search engine and site optimization, copy writing assistance and website tutoring.
I also practice yoga, coach people on nutrition and lifestyle and do my best to make the earth a better place. I love helping others who are in the business of things I enjoy!
Philosophy
Design has a powerful influence on our society, in nature and in the direction we take our lives. Everywhere we look in architecture, transportation, media, packaging etc., we are exposed to it and it is very influential on our lives.
A portion of popular design is not only very practical but also uplifting and nature friendly. Design is going to become increasingly important as human beings make even greater demands on the environment. Today’s media-driven society and fast-paced lifestyle trends are the acceptable norm. I aim to promote a positive change in the quality of life for human beings and our planet, utilizing more creativity and imagination such as green marketing, paperless media, and recyclable and reusable resources for a sustainable future.
My style emulates the colorful, beautiful and mathematical aspects of nature bringing it into harmony. Ethics, sustainability, and great design are always in mind when creating work for a client. My goal is to create design that is inline with our environment while keeping the client’s message intact. What in your natural surroundings influence you?
History
AN Design began many years ago while I worked full-time as a graphic design manager for a corporate marketing company. Even before I began my career in the industry I always dreamed of working for myself, but knew it couldn’t be done without proper ‘real world’ experience. Working corporate gave me the necessary skills to succeed in the business world, but something else was missing. With the long commute to sit in a windowless cubicle for over nine hours a day, I quickly realized it wasn’t my place.
I gave my business a name and developed my first website for my portfolio in 2004. Friends began to ask me to design pieces as well as referring me to their friends and colleagues. I quickly realized the joy I felt by working with small businesses and helping them grow. With increasing requests, the work week climbed to 70+ hours and it was now time for my to resign from corporate life. I gave my notice and ventured out to take on AN Design full-time.
